New Mexico State University freshmen divers Italia Aranzabal (pictured) and Lily Ellis had a strong day against Trinity University Dec. 18 in San Antonio, Texas, with Aranzabal setting a school record and Ellis qualifying for zones.
“Both girls put together their most consistent [performances] of the season,” said diving coach Miranda King. “Both girls are continuing to improve throughout their training, and it is paying off. Lily got a zones qualifying score on 1m and Italia broke our 3m school record."
Aranzabal broke MacKinna Hauff's school record of 307.19 in the 3m with a 314.35. Ellis qualified for NCAA Diving Zones in the 1m with a score of 285.95.

NMSU swimming and diving takes on CSU Pueblo Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the NMSU Swimming and Diving Complex.
