NM State Announces 2016 Football Schedule

The NM State 2016 football schedule is set after the finalization of the Sun Belt Conference schedule, as announced by the league office Thursday. All game times are TBA.

Five of the Aggies’ opponents played in bowl games following the 2015 season. NM State’s Rio Grande rival New Mexico played in the 2015 Gildan New Mexico Bowl. This season, the Aggies will host New Mexico on Sept. 10.

After facing four conference opponents, NM State will take a break from league play to travel to Texas A&M on Oct. 29. Texas A&M participated in the Music City Bowl in 2015.

In addition, the Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia Southern won the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl. The Aggies are slated to face the Eagles in Aggie Memorial Stadium on Oct. 22.

Following NM State’s second bye of the season, the Aggies travel to face Arkansas State. As the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Champions, the Red Wolves played in the New Orleans Bowl. NM State and Arkansas State play Nov. 12.

On Nov. 26, the Aggies have their final road trip of the season as they travel Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. The Mountaineers captured a victory in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl following the 2015 regular season.

NM State will also face non-conference opponents UTEP and Kentucky as well as conference opponents Troy, UL-Lafayette, Idaho, Texas State and South Alabama. For the full 2016 schedule, please see below.
