School district will name new superintendent Nov. 3

Las Cruces Public Schools will name a new permanent superintendent on Thursday, Nov. 3, interim Superintendent Steven Sanchez said a joint meeting between the LCPS Board of Education and the Las Cruces City Council.

The announcement will be at 4 p.m. in the board room of the LCPS administration building, 505 S. Main St., Suite 249, Loretto Towne Centre, Sanchez said.

The three finalists for the position are Dr. Gregory Ewing of Marietta, Georgia; Dr. Gregory Rodriguez of Huntsville, Texas; and Dr. Arsenio Romero of Roswell, New Mexico, who is a former LCPS administrator.

Sanchez said a specific start date for the new superintendent will be set once he has been hired. The new superintendent will replace Stan Rounds, who resigned in June after 10 years of service with LCPS.
