A beginning and an end: Nearly 2K students graduate from NMSU

An ending and a beginning. About 1,900 New Mexico State University students tossed their caps in the air May 6-7, as they graduated during three ceremonies NMSU held for graduate-degree candidates and undergrad graduates at the Pan American Center. NMSU recognized seven students with its 2022 Outstanding Graduate Award: Liam St. Hilaire, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, genetics and biotechnology; Jenna Dunlap, College of Arts and Sciences, graphic design and photography; Margarita Leal Marrufo, College of Business, finance, economics and international business; Domunick Gonzales, College of Engineering, engineering physics and aerospace engineering;

Katherine Anne Harston, College of Health, Education and Social Transformation, kinesiology; Fallon E. Murphy, master’s candidate, College of Arts and Sciences; communication studies; and Sayed Kaes Maruf Hossain, doctoral candidate, Graduate School, industrial engineering. On May 7, NMSU honored

former NMSU Foundation board member and NMSU alumna Smoky Glass Torgerson with an honorary doctoral degree in recognition of the decades of service and support she has provided to the university.
