ACTion Programs for Animals offers spring adoption special

Posted

ACTion Programs for Animals’ (APA) Spring-a-Pet campaign offers adoptions for $25 in April, excluding small-breed dogs.

“If you are looking to add a lovable pet to your family, please consider meeting our adoptable animals at APA,” said APA Executive Director Michel Meunier. “When someone adopts from us, it frees up space at our facility and allows us to pull more dogs and cats from the municipal shelter.”

Located at 537 N. Solano Drive, APA adoption center hours of operation are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and by appointment.

According to its website, APA is a progressive animal welfare organization seeking to improve the quality of life for companion animals in Doña Ana County and reduce the number of unwanted animals impounded and euthanized at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley (ASCMV). Since May 2012, more than 4,800 animals have been rescued. The majority have been dogs and cats/kittens pulled from the ASCMV, accomplished through volunteer rescue/foster coordinators, foster families, weekend adoptions and donations.
