Adaptive recreation walking program

The City of Las Cruces will be offering an Adaptive Recreation Walking Program beginning the week of May 17. The Adaptive Walking Program will take place from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Group will meet at the Frank O/Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Avenue.  Distance is not the priority, movement is encouraged.  No racing or competition, just a focus on health and well-being.  Participants walk at their own pace for a set time.   
  
Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Parks & Recreation Department have instituted new procedures to visit our facilities to ensure the health and safety of our staff and guests. Guests with COVID-19 symptoms or who are sick will not be permitted to enter. Guests are required to follow public health order guidelines by wearing mask over their nose and mouth and maintaining a distance of at least six feet from others at all times.

  • Patrons will be required to submit an updated waiver.  
  • Patrons will be required to bring their own water. 
  • Patrons can check in 10 minutes prior to the scheduled session and will have their temperature checked upon their arrival.  

 Program requires preregistration in order to participate for each class and will be on-going.  Register at www.las-cruces.org/play. No telephone registrations. There are no fees to participate.
