Converge Las Cruces Fine Art Gallery’s latest online 3D virtual exhibition, “Between the Wind,” with photographs by Ben Horne, is on display at www.ConvergeLasCruces.com.

The 28-image exhibition will continue through Dec. 30, and it includes many of the images contained in Horne’s book, also titled “Between the Wind.”

Working in places like Death Valley and Zion National Parks, Horne said he uses primarily 8-inch by 10-inch and 4-inch by 5-inch cameras. His YouTube channel has more than 46,000 subscribers, Horne said, and teaches large-format photography.

“My goal is to create simple, structured and calm images of nature,” Horne said. “I prefer working with traditional large-format film, because of the inherent limitation and the required sense of discipline. These limitations help to shape the final image by giving me a sense of direction. I find joy in recognizing the beauty in smaller, more intimate scenes of nature, scenes that are easily overlooked.”

“Ben considers, composes and creates,” Converge Director John Craig said. “His use of large-format cameras slows the picture-taking process down and creates images with unsurpassed detail, depth and color.”

Converge Gallery exhibits and represents contemporary artists who focus on the issues such as the environment, global warming and identity, the gallery said in a news release. The mission of the gallery is to converge cutting-edge artworks of today’s critical issues with an up-and-coming art market.
