BLACK BOX THEATRE

Black Box Theatre has four streamed performances of ‘Bosoms and Neglect’ this weekend and next

Posted

Black Box Theatre of Las Cruces cancelled the final four performances of "Bosoms and Neglect" in March because of restrictions imposed by state public health orders issued in response to COVID-19. But the show will go on -- virtually!

“We made a recording of the play against the possibility that we would be able to get a license to stream the play over the Internet,” said Black Box co-owner Ceil Herman. “The good news is that we have just obtained a streaming license for four performances of the play.”

The four performances, all of which will begin at 7 p.m., are Fridays, July 31 and Aug. 7 and Saturdays, Aug. 1 and 8.

Each performance date makes the play available for 24 hours. So, if, for example, you buy three tickets

for the opening-night performance (Friday, July 31), you would be able to view it any time between 7:00 p.m. July 31 and 6:59 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.

Tickets are $10.

To purchase tickets, visit the ShowTx4U website (which is not Black Box theatre’s normal ticketing site) at www.showtix4u.com/event-details/38931. There is only one option to select on the link, which is a single ticket.

“In order for the theatre and the playwright to be appropriately compensated, please select the number of people who will be viewing the play,” Herman said.

“Bosoms and Neglect” was written by John Guare and directed at Black Box by Monte Wright. The cast included Jamie Bronstein, Bobby Senecal and Avra Elliott. It is directed by Monte Wright.

If you will be viewing the performance using a season ticket, volunteer pro or donor pro, email Herman at nstcbbt@zianet.com with the performance you wish to stream, and she will make your reservation.
