Branigan Library offers free computer literacy classes in May

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library (TBML), 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers a variety of free computer literacy classes designed to help adults to be more comfortable in today’s digital world, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.

Registration is optional and walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited.

Classes are in the library’s computer training classroom. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.

Here are the classes in May:

  • Introduction to Social Media: 2-4 p.m. Thursday, May 12. Learn what social media is and how to use it. You will learn what social media platforms there are and tips on how to stay safe while using them.
  • Microsoft Word Basics: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 17. Learn to use Microsoft Word, including how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
  • Microsoft Excel Basics: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. This is a class for those who are beginning to use Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer skills are required.
