Bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over University Ave begins

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One in conjunction with La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will begin a bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over the University Ave Interchange, milepost 141.  This project was awarded in the amount of $8.4 million and is expected to take 200 working days to complete, weather pending.

This project includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction and lighting. Crews will be working on the installation of detour crossovers on I-10, and installation of concrete barrier wall for the safety of the traveling public. A lane closure is expected for the next two weeks with all traffic shifted to the outside driving lanes in both eastbound and westbound lanes. The contractor’s working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
