Celebrate Authors 2022 will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at Thomas Branigan Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.
The event was started by The Friends of the Branigan Library in 2014. This year’s sponsors are Moonbow Alterations and Moonbow’s Book Nook, 225 E. Idaho Ave., No. 32.
Celebrate Authors 2022 will feature authors from Las Cruces and surrounding area with books published in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
More than 90 authors have applied to participate this year, said coordinator Alice B. Davenport. Because of space limitations, about 50 will be invited to participate, she said. They will all be represented among the 250 or so authors whose books are available at Moonbow’s Book Nook.
Like last year, refreshments will not be served at this year’s event, except for bottled water, Davenport said. Hand sanitizer will be available.
After the event, Moonbow will make a monetary donation to the Children’s Reading Alliance and to Spay Neuter Action Program (SNAP). Guests and authors can donate contribute at the event.
The event is free to both authors and the public.
