Community Foundation hosts July 21 ‘100 Who Give’; Community Conversations coming in August

“100 minutes, 100 friends, $100 dollars each. One BIG impact!”

That’s how the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) describes its upcoming 100 Who Give fundraiser.

The event will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Boneyard Cantina, 139 N. Main St. downtown.

CFSNM is hosting the event in partnership with N2 Publishing and Calhoun Flower Farms.

“The 100 Who Give committee invites you to stop by and grab a bite to eat, reconnect with community and donate $100 to nominate a local cause or nonprofit,” CFSNM said. “With 100 attendees, your vote can help us make a grand impact in the community with a total $10,000 donation!”

Community Conversations

In partnership from United Way of Southwest New Mexico and the Southern NM Nonprofit Coalition, CFSNM will host Community Conversations in August, October and December.

The goal of these “small community conversation groups” will be to “facilitate an open dialogue that centers around a particular issue, sector or topic.”

 Meetings will be held 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the CFSNM Devasthali Nonprofit Center, 2640 El Paseo Road.

Here are the dates and topics:

  • Thursday, Aug. 18: Elder care
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: Literacy and education
  • Thursday, Dec. 15: Special needs
