Construction continues apace in Santa Teresa

Posted

“A bright spot in the current (public health) crisis is that construction on new buildings and infrastructure remains brisk in Santa Teresa,” said Border Industrial Association President Jerry Pacheco.

He listed these ongoing projects in Santa Teresa:

  • 183,000 square foot spec building (Franklin Mountain Industrial) will be completed by end of June;
  • 140,000 square feet of campus (Admiral Cable of Taiwan) will be completed by July 1;
  • 100-acre expansion of Santa Teresa Gateway Rail Park will be completed in July;
  • A new five-mile natural gas line being built from Santa Teresa to San Jeronimo, Mexico is scheduled for completion in mid-May, New Mexico Gas Company Energy Contracts Manager Tommy A. Trujillo said in an April email to Pacheco.

“Most of Santa Teresa’s industrial base has remained open during the crisis, because most members are considered essential,” Pacheco said. “As we work ourselves out of this crisis, we will continue to recruit new companies and create jobs and economic development opportunities for the State of New Mexico.”
