‘Destination: Broadway’ to stream beginning March 19

The New Mexico State University Theatre Department’s ‘Destination: Broadway” fundraiser will premiere at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, and will be available within a 24-hour window to stream throughout the weekend for $25.

The production is “a musical celebration of places we wish we could have gone in 2020 and hope we get to go in 2021. The show will take us virtually around the globe to locations such as Paris, Ireland, the Midwest, California and, of course, theatre’s iconic New York City,” Department head Wil Kilroy said.

The fundraiser will benefit the NMSU Theatre Department. The public is invited to sponsor performers in the show, onstage and backstage crew and musicians, as well as featured songs and musicals.

Sponsorships are $125 for crew (host Wil Kilroy, co-director Lisa Hermanson, co-director Christa Fredrickson, stage manager Mike Wise, recording engineer Mark Klett), $75 for featured musicals (Book of Mormon,” “South Pacific,” “Good Vibrations,” “Oklahoma,” “Legally Blonde: The Musical,” “Company,” “The Last Five Years,” “Hairspray/Gypsy/Newsies,” “The Music Man,” “Sweeney Todd” and Follies”), $75 for each of the more than two dozen featured performers and $75 for the more than two dozen featured songs.
