Flags donated for veterans’ graves

Posted

Brenda Dunn of the Las Cruces De Noche Lions Club saw a recent Facebook post from someone seeking “gently used/not too faded” American flags to replace two worn-out flags at a cemetery in Doña Ana. The sender got those replacement flags flying with help from the Doña Ana Fire Department, the Facebook post said, but discovered 10 flagpoles on veterans’ graves in the cemetery that didn’t have flags. Enter Dunn, who donated five flags, and other community members who donated the additional five flags, all “in very good condition.”
