The schedule has been set for the annual City of Las Cruces Fourth of July Celebration.

This popular free two-day event begins July 3, with the Electric 5-kilometer and One-mile Fun Run, followed by the Electric Light Parade. The run begins and ends at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., with a turn-around at Apodaca Park, 801 E. Madrid Ave.

The Electric Light Parade starts at Apodaca Park and will finish at the Maag Softball Complex, 1700 W. Hadley Ave.

The City and New Mexico State University are teaming up to host the annual Fourth of July Concert and Firework Display at Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park, 3205 Arrowhead Drive, on the NMSU campus. Plain White T’s will headline this year’s concert with Raul Malo, of the Mavericks,opening the show.

The annual fireworks display will begin immediately following the concert.

Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park provides easy access, traffic flow, and expanded parking. It can accommodate the large audience that attends this free, family-friendly, community event.

9 p.m.            Electric Light ParadeThe parade begins at Apodaca Park, 801 E. Gates open at 4 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. No grilling, personal fireworks, recreational vehicles, or overnight parking will be allowed. Alcohol will be available for purchase and consumption will be in specific designated areas. No outside alcohol will be allowed.
