DOÑA ANA DOLL CLUB

From Barbies to Beanie Babies: Club will showcase dolls at show

Posted

The Doña Ana Doll Club will host its annual doll show and sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the               Scottish Rite Temple, 195 W. Boutz Road, said club president Annalie Rollins.

There is a $2 admission fee. Masks will be required.

The show will include local club members as well as participants from El Paso and Arizona, Rollins said.

“There will be many different kinds of dolls, from Barbies to cloth and paper dolls,” she said. The show will also include homemade dolls and stuffed animals, including Beanie Babies and bears.

“Some of the ladies sell doll clothes, furniture and tea sets,” Rollins said. “Anything to do with dolls.”

The club began in 1994, Rollins said.

“There were 29 ladies to begin with,” she said. Today, the club has 10 active members.

Gloria Sanders is a club charter member.

Sanders “is 97 years ‘young’ and still going strong,” Rollins said.
