Join us for an exhibit by local Indigenous and LGBTQAI+ artist Chantelle Yazzie-Martin titled Iniquitous: Trapped in the Room. Yazzie-Martin uses digital photography and incorporates embroidery to document some of the pain that happens when you “come out of the closet” but are still unable to show oneself fully to society.

November 6, 5:30-6:30pm- Artist Talk and Demonstration with Chantelle Yazzie-Martin

Hear from local Indigenous and LGBTQAI+ artist Chantelle Yazzie-Martin about her exhibit and her methods of creating her pieces. You can join the talk with the zoom link: rebrand.ly/ChantelleYazzie.

January 6, 5:30-6:30pm- Embroidery on Canvas Workshop with Chantelle Yazzie-Martin

Chantelle Yazzie-Martin leads this workshop on how to do embroidery on canvas. Participants learn the methods that she uses to create impactful, multidimensional artwork as well as the cultural significance behind them. Register by January 4 to get a kit with supplies and the Zoom link to attend. Please register by emailing Kayla at kmyers@las-cruces.org.
