Las Cruces couple celebrates 60th wedding anniversary

Jim and Carolyn Fowler of Las Cruces celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 1. They were married July 1, 1961 in Dublin, Texas. After completing degrees at both Texas Tech and Texas A & M universities, the Fowlers moved from Bryan/College Station, Texas to Las Cruces in 1971 where Jim and Carolyn both had careers and retired from NMSU. They have a daughter, Mendy, and son, Scott, and all live in Las Cruces.  Carolyn Fowler is a retired software specialist in the NMSU College of Business and she also worked early in her career in the colleges of education and arts and sciences. Jim Fowler was a full professor and retired as the superintendent of the Leyendecker Plant Science Research Center and the Fabian Garcia Research Center in the NMSU ag college.
