Las Cruces creative agency receives awards

Las Cruces-based creative agency NMCO Media has received two Silver American Advertising Awards.

The American Advertising Federation annually hosts a competition to recognize creative media produced in advertising. The American Advertising Awards of New Mexico is part of a regional tier for the national AAF competition. For 2021, due to the pandemic, New Mexico’s Addy Awards event was virtual.

NMCO won the Silver Ad Award for the 2020 integrated political campaign for Rep. Angelica Rubio, D-Las Cruces.

NMCO produced the “Talk is Cheap, Action Speaks” campaign, which featured Rubio as not deterred by negativity and committed to representing the people of New Mexico. The campaign consisted of a tagline, campaign video, branding and graphics. The campaign proved successful, with Rubio securing re-election.

NMCO also won a silver award for an Otero County campaign titled, “Otero County Counts.” The campaign featured animated videos with characters who reflected the communities, as well as illustrations of Otero County buildings and landmarks. The campaign – produced in both English and Spanish – was designed to increase U.S. Census participation.

NMCO Creative Director Christina Ballew said the awards were the result of teamwork.

“Our team has worked very hard throughout the years building a standard for creative services in southern New Mexico. Winning silver is monumental,” she said. “We’re very honored by this recognition. NMCO is grateful to our loyal clients that hire us for creative solutions, trust the process and let us help communicate their ideas and stories. We are very proud.”

Along with the Silver Addy Awards NMCO was also entered into the prestigious Albuquerque 30, which awards the best ideas of 2020 within a criteria of excellence.

NMCO Media competed against more than a dozen other professional agencies in the state in various categories of advertising and media.
