Las Cruces Fire Department hosts physical ability test

Want to test your ability to become a Las Cruces firefighter? Las Cruces Fire Department (LCFD) is conducting the Physical Ability Test (PAT) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 30. LCFD, in preparation for an upcoming academy, is offering the (PAT) to the public, 18 years and older to let prospective candidates assess their stamina and agility skills before applying for a position.

Firefighters will be on hand to provide tips and to answer questions. The fire department’s next academy is planned for Summer or Fall of 2022. 

The PAT will be held at the Las Cruces Fire Training Tower at Fire Station 7, 1050 Crawford Boulevard. Candidates should dress appropriately – athletic shoes and apparel are suggested. If you wish to attend, please send an email to FD-Recruiting@las-cruces.org. On-site registration will also take place at the Training Center, and tests will be performed on a first come first-serve basis.
