Posted

Compatriot Robert Vance of The Gadsden Chapter (Las Cruces), New Mexico Society, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) recently presented SAR ROTC medals to New Mexico Military Institute cadets in Roswell. Vance was wearing a Carolina’s period Continental Army uniform during the presentations of the SAR JROTC bronze medal to Cadet Samuel Ursanic and the SAR ROTC silver medal to Cadet Joe Quiroz.

SAR was chartered by an act of Congress in 1906 “to perpetuate the memory of the men who, by their services and sacrifices during the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American people” and “to foster true patriotism.” SAR consists of 50 societies with more than 500 local chapters, several international societies, and more than 37,000 members.
