The Mesilla Valley Readers of Southern New Mexico Book Club will host a conversation with New York Times best-selling author Sarah McCoy about her new book, “Mustique Island,” 4-5 p.m. Thursday, June 9, via Zoom.

Send an email to mesillavalleybookclub@gmail.com for the link.

The presentation is free and open to the public, the book club said in a news release.

Here is what McCoy said about her new book on her website: “A compulsive, sun-splashed voyage of self-discovery with a wealthy divorcee and her two headstrong daughters in 1970s Mustique, the world’s most exclusive private island, where Princess Margaret and Mick Jagger were regulars and long-held secrets are the buried treasures.”

Sarah is known to local readers as the 2012 Goodreads Choice award nominee for her El Paso-based book, “The Baker’s Daughter,” the book club said.

McCoy lives with her husband, an orthopedic sports surgeon, their dog, Gilly, and their cat Tutu (Tularosa), in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
