Mayor earns master’s in business administration

Posted

Mayor Ken Miyagishima graduated  from New Mexico State University with a bachelor of business administration in 1985. “I always felt like I needed to get my MBA, but I started my insurance business in 1985. I had no time back then,” Miyagishima said on Facebook. He received his master of business administration this November from the University of Texas at El Paso. “Why not NMSU?” Miyagishima asked on Facebook. “Because they do not have an executive MBA program that meets on the weekends for 18 months.” Miyagishima has been mayor of Las Cruces since 2007. He served six years as a city councilor before being elected mayor and served eight years on the Doña Ana County Commission before being elected to city council.
