MESILLA VALLEY FINE ARTS GALLERY

Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery features artists Postelle, Widner in September

Posted

The Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery, 2470-A Calle de Guadalupe, on the historic Mesilla Plaza across from the Fountain Theatre, will feature local artists Yvonne Postelle and Roberta Leavell “Bobbie” Widner during the month of September.

After retiring from the business world and raising a family, Postelle revisited her passion for oil painting. She is a member of numerous art associations and has held various positions in these organizations. Postelle continues to improve her technique by attending various workshops.

Widner is an oil painter who prefers to express her talent in subject matters from abroad, mainly France and Italy, where she has taken extended workshops, rendering her art in the Old Masters’ style.

MVFAG features the work of 30 artists in various media, including oil, acrylics, pastels, watercolor, fused glass art jewelry, woodturnings, stained glass, photography, ceramics, mixed media, decorated gourds, handmade textile weavings, art tile, fiber art, natural gemstone jewelry, colored pencil, basket weavings, charcoal, pen and ink, prints, cards and miniature paintings.

MVFAG is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with limited access because of public health orders.

First American Bank, 1553 Avenida de Mesilla, is well represented by gallery members who rotate their artwork monthly at the bank.
