New care facility caters to the uninsured

Posted

Uninsured Las Cruces residents who need medical care now have a new option at Medicina Del Sol Direct Primary Care, (MDSDPC), owned and managed by Dr Deborah Thorne.

Thorne said MDSDPC is “a subscription-based primary care practice offering affordable and personalized medical care without the need for insurance.”

Members, she said, receive unlimited access to the provider, labs and medications at cost, free telemedicine and no copay.

Thorne said she opened MDSDCP in February, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our unique model of care is perfectly suited to assist patient’s medical needs during the pandemic by seeing one patient at a time, either at the clinic or virtually,” Thorne said.

Thorne said the model she used to open MDSDPC is taking off across the United States.

“Direct primary care (DPC) is a model of care that’s growing across the nation as a better way to stay well and manage chronic conditions without high copay and deductibles,” she said. “We are the only DPC practice in Las Cruces. Given that we provide unlimited access to care, patients can text or call beyond the regular business hours.”

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at 111 W. Lucero Ave. Suite 6, across from City Hall.
