New Mexico State University graduate and men's basketball standout, Johnny McCants, has joined forces with NM State Athletics to support the immediate recruiting needs for Aggie men's and women's basketball. McCants will be a part of a new initiative for fans to acquire their own piece of Aggie memorabilia featuring the Las Cruces native and Aggie star. Interested fans will be able to make their contribution online via a website that is set to go live on the morning of Monday, May 9. For each $250 contribution, donors will receive a hand-numbered and signed Johnny McCants/NCAA Tournament Coffee Table Poster. This first-series printing will see the release of only 125 of the limited-edition posters. Please note that supporters can receive a maximum of up to four (4) Coffee Table Posters per contribution. "To me, this means everything because the Aggie community really means a lot to me and both Aggie programs mean a lot to me," McCants said. "Being able to make some money is one thing I wanted to do so I can feed my family, but I also want to give back to the school. I'm grateful for the opportunity to send some money back to the programs and try to help out any way I can." Each poster will be hand-numbered (1-125) and signed by Johnny McCants. The front of the tri-fold poster is highlighted by a three-photo series of a McCants slam dunk from the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The poster's back features the 2022 NM State men's basketball photo roster as well as box scores from the 2022 NCAA Tournament that included a 70-63 victory over fifth-seeded UConn. On March 27th, Greg Heiar was named the 27th leader of the men's basketball program and four days later, Jody Adams-Birch was tapped to lead women's basketball. Since their arrival, both Coach Adams-Birch and Coach Heiar have embraced the Aggie community and have hit the ground recruiting to complete their rosters in preparation for their respective 2022-23 seasons. "I hope the programs can continue to do what they've done in the past and continue to represent each other well," McCants added. "If we can all come together more, it would make everything better for everyone." When you support this initiative, you are supporting Coach Heiar, Coach Adams-Birch and their vision for Aggie Basketball. All funds raised through this initiative will be split 50/50 between both the men's and women's basketball programs. To support and reserve your piece of history, simply complete the form online along with your contribution. Coffee Table Posters will be mailed via U.S. Mail. Please allow two weeks for delivery. "I want to give my thanks to the Aggie community, all the fans, and everybody who supported me growing up through middle school, high school and during my college career," McCants began to conclude.
