Nusenda Credit Union opens first Las Cruces branch

Nusenda Credit Union opened its first Las Cruces branch at 1715 E. University Ave., located in Pan Am Plaza across from New Mexico State University.

The branch, which opened earlier this month, offers financial counseling, personal and commercial banking needs and more. It can also open new accounts, assist with loans and lines of credit, issue debit and credit cards, provide financial counseling and more.

Nusenda said it employs seven people at the Las Cruces branch.

The Nusenda Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the credit union, will provide community support to the Las Cruces area through its work with several local nonprofits and organizations, Nusenda said in a news release. It has already partnered with Ngage New Mexico, United Way of Southern New Mexico, the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region, Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico: Kids Can (youth entrepreneur program) and Families and Youth, Inc. (Las Cruces community meal program)

President/CEO Joe Christian. “Our Pan Am branch will make it easier for current and new members in the area to access our products and services. We already have many strong relationships with businesses and nonprofit partners in Las Cruces and surrounding communities. We are glad to be doing even more to make a positive difference.”

Headquartered in Albuquerque, Nusenda Credit Union is the state’s largest credit union with more

than 230,000 members, the news release said. The Las Cruces office is its 24th branch location in New Mexico.
