To alleviate traffic and parking issues for this weekend’s high school graduations at the Field of Dreams, the Las Cruces Public Schools will be opening Bruins Lane and parking lots in and around Mayfield High School.
Construction on Tashiro Road, which fronts the Field of Dreams, has rendered that road inaccessible.
By opening Bruins Lane, attendees can approach the Field of Dreams from the south via Motel Boulevard, or from the north via Bruins Lane.
Officials will open parking lots on softball fields and other activity spaces north of Field of Dreams and accessible from Bruins Lane. Also accessible will be the Mayfield High School parking lot, via Hoagland Road.
Bruins Lane is accessible from the southbound lane of Valley Drive. Hoagland Road is accessible from either the northbound or southbound lanes of Valley Drive.
Directions and situations will be subject to change.
State Police and LCPS officials will be working to help direct traffic flows before and after the graduations.
The remaining graduations are as follows:
FRIDAY, MAY 21, Field of Dreams
1:30 p.m. Arrowhead Park Early College High School
6 p.m. Mayfield High School
SATURDAY, MAY 22, Field of Dreams
9 a.m. Las Cruces High School
