Dancers at Michele’s Dance Academy (MDA) take a break from ballet class and learn traditional Hawaiian hula during their recent dance-a-thon. More than $8,000 was raised toward MDA’s upcoming “Nutcracker” ballet which will be restored to a full two-act production, said MDA founder Kevin Self. Guest dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem and Dark Circles Contemporary Dance will provide leading roles in the production, which will be performed Friday-Saturday, Dec. 17-18, at the NMSU Music Building recital hall, 1075 N. Horseshoe St.  Visit www.michelesdanceacademy.biz.

The eBulletin has begun a new feature, the Reader Photo of the Week. We’re asking readers to send us photos of something that represents life in the Mesilla Valley. Each week will pick one and publish it in our Thursday eBulletin. We expect the variety of the photos to be endless. Send us an email with your photo to adslcbulletin@gmail.com. Preferably, the photo should be a JPG between 500KB and 7MB in size. Send us information with the name of the photographer, where and when it was taken, and any other pertinent information. Hit us with your best shot, Las Cruces!
