Temple Beth-El has ‘Pastrami for Pops’ for Father’s Day

Posted

Celebrate Father’s Day by picking up a pastrami on rye sandwich or hot dog meal in Temple Beth-El’s drive-up version of the Jewish Food and Folk Festival (JFFF) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 20, at 3980 Sonoma Springs Ave.

The drive-up event features the two signature meals from the temple’s annual JFFF fundraiser, last held in 2019 due to Covid-19 regulations.

Pre-orders are encouraged via email to TBE.JFFF@gmail.com. Include your name, phone number, pick-up time and number of pastrami ($12) or hot dog plates ($5) you wish to order.

Both meals come with a bag of potato chips and a pickle spear. Drinks and bags of cookies will also be available for purchase at pickup. Pre-orders are not necessary for drinks or cookies. Payment via check, cash or credit card will be accepted at pickup.

This year, pre-orders will be accepted for pastrami by the pound: $13 for one pound or $25 for two pounds.

Temple Beth-El plans to resume JFFF next spring. The event includes various Jewish foods for sale, dancing with the Mesilla Valley International Folk Dancers, live music, a family-fun area for young children and the Beth-El Bazaar where attendees can shop for goods.
