The feature film “The Informant” filmed in Las Cruces in July, the New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) said in a news release.
Directed by Michael Oblowitz and produced by Daniel Cummings, “The Informant” is the story of a terminally ill undercover narcotics cop who enlists the aid of his partner and their junkie informant to stage his death to support his financially struggling family, NMFO said.
“The Informant” stars Mel Gibson, Kate Bosworth, Dominic Purcell and Nick Stahl.
"We're thrilled to welcome ‘The Informant’ to Las Cruces and bring new opportunities to our local film crew and small businesses," said Las Cruces Film Liaison Jon Sepp.
The production will employ approximately 30 New Mexico crew members, two New Mexico principal actors and approximately 10 New Mexico background talent, NMFO said.
“The Informant” marks the return of both Gibson and Bosworth to Las Cruces for film projects.
Gibson was here last year to film “Hot Seat,” and Bosworth was in Las Cruces in late 2021 to film “The Locksmith.”
