Valley Homes: putting Las Crucens in affordable homes

Posted

Affordable housing has long been a goal for people establishing their careers and settling down.

In las Cruces, Valley Homes is dedicated to helping people put down roots with a home.

Owned by Craig Bullock and his wife, Elizabeth Driggers, Valley Homes employs five people, and its mission statement is simple: “To help members of our community find affordable housing in quality homes.”

Valley Homes

opened in November 2019 at 350 S. Valley Drive, between Hadley and Amador avenue.

Operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but COVID-19 has forced Bullock to adopt an appointment-only approach to doing business.

“Because our business is lean,” he said, “we adapted quickly and immediately went to appointment-only operations. As we started having a better understanding of safe operations, we slowly began reopening and we fully sanitize the office, houses and all touched surfaces after a customer has left. We want our customers to feel safe and we want to keep our staff healthy.”

Bullock said first-time homebuyers often have a lot of questions, and he and his staff try to go the extra mile to help them through the process.

“We understand the home buying process can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate,” Bullock said, “which is why we help throughout every step of the process. We have an in-house service department so that you never have to call a 1-800 number for warranty or service problems.”
