Village at Northrise dominates Alzheimer’s giving

Posted

The Village at Northrise (VAN), 2884 N. Roadrunner Parkway, has announced it raised more than $11,000 for the 2020 Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

More than 30 VAN participants joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease. For their achievement, VAN will be presented with a trophy for raising the most funds of any of the more than 325 Genesis HealthCare centers nationwide.

In 2020, Genesis HealthCare raised more than $65,000 company-wide and has reached a lifetime achievement level of $1 milllion+ Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

“It is truly an honor to advocate for an end to this devastating disease,” said Donald Wilson, regional executive director. “With the leadership, guidance and inspiration of Bonnie Zeiler, our team captain, we have once again raised the most of any Genesis Center across the entire country. My thanks to all the people who participated in this accomplishment and especially to the donors without whom we would not have raised more than $11,000 in 2020.”

VAN provides skilled nursing, senior living, and independent living services and includes a 24-bed specialized memory-support program.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
