LAS CRUCES HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

We Stand United with You!

Posted

The Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce stands in solidarity with Black Americans and people of all ethnicities, cultures, religions, genders, and orientations to oppose all forms of racism, persecution and discrimination. We come together with all you and sincerely mourn the tragic murder of George Floyd.

Today, we unite as business leaders and citizens in a call for justice. We stand with the peaceful protesters that use their First Amendment constitutional right to assemble peaceably. Protestors have marched through the cities in our great nation to mourn the death of a fellow human being and to call for justice and much needed reform.

We have already experienced tragedy due to racism close to home when our neighbors in El Paso were senselessly murdered because the perpetrator was targeting Hispanics. We stood in solidarity with our sister city and we stand in solidarity with our community, America and all people in the world.

We must unite in eliminating this affliction of racial injustice from our hearts, our communities,

our government as well as social and civic institutions. Let this tragedy not be in vain, let us unite in our healing as a community and as a nation. Let us stand firm in our call for justice and end to racism.

We call on everyone to come together now as a community of families, neighbors, friends, business leaders, and decision makers to put an end to racism, persecution and discrimination by demanding reforms and new policies of equality in education, job creation and economic development. We firmly believe this will make us a stronger community that will persevere in the midst of this tragic event and for future generations.

We must begin to rebuild and not destroy our nation; we must vanquish racial inequality and discrimination of any form. We cannot allow our great country to be divided by injustice.  We must condemn all forms of racial discrimination. We must stand against the systemic racism that has plagued our country for far too long.

One thing the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce strives for is diversity in business and workforce. We join you in prayers for justice and peace.

Black Lives Matter. This shouldn’t be a divisive statement. It is a call for justice; a call for peace. Once we are able to sincerely listen and understand the truths about racism then we can begin to heal. George Floyd mattered!  #BLACKLIVESMATTER
