Doña Ana Community College’s 10 X 25 Conference is “THE regional networking opportunity for creators, innovators, educators and entrepreneurs,” said DACC Arts Department Chair Matt Byrnes.
The conference will be held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 14-15, at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave.
The cost is $150.
“We feel that we have an outstanding array of sessions covering everything from creative entrepreneurship, equity in work and education, storytelling through hip-hop, to contract work in the entertainment and games industry,” Byrnes said.
The conference’s keynote speaker is Ebetuel “Beto” Pallares, Ph.D., “a really heavyweight in the world of business, finance and entrepreneurship,” Byrnes said.
A native of Ciudad Juarez, Pallares was raised in El Paso. He teaches entrepreneurship and strategic management at New Mexico State University, where he holds the Bill and Sharron Sheriff Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship. Pallares has an MBA and a Ph.D. in international business strategy from UTEP. He has a BA in economics from Brandeis University. Pallares has served as a start-up entrepreneur, telecom executive, restaurateur, nonprofit director, venture capitalist and college professor.

Jointly sponsored by DACC and the New Mexico State University Arrowhead Center, the conference will celebrate “creativity and innovation as drivers of positive economic and social growth,” Byrnes said.
Giving welcoming and introductory speeches at the conference will be DACC President Monica Torres, Ph.D., and Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima.
