New Mexico State University graduates more than 1,000 in 2021

Zach Holt created Debbie the Debian Debug Duck to hang out on his mortarboard during Dec. 11 New Mexico State University the undergraduate commencement ceremony held at the Pan American Center. Holt said in computer science It’s a known thing to do a rubber duck debugging. You have a rubber duck in your desk and you just explain to what the program is supposed to be doing and usually you find your problem. “It took a big debug duck to get through the degree,” Holt said.

On the morning of Dec. 11 more than 680 undergraduate students flipped their tassels at the Pan American Center at New Mexico State University. The graduate students were able to receive their diplomas the day before, Dec. 10. For advanced degrees, 320 students completed their course requirement and 866 undergraduates did so too, all in the 2021 summer and fall semesters.
