Auditions for American Southwest Theatre Company’s 2024-2025 Season

New Mexico State University Theatre and American Southwest Theatre Company is gearing up for an eclectic 2024-25 season, offering something for everyone. In the fall, a new and innovative take on Dracula will get audiences ready for the spooky season. “Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors” written by Gordon Greenberg and Steven Rosen and directed by Associate Professor Nichole Hamilton, has been referred to as Dracula for Gen Z and offers a campy sexy romp through the beloved Stoker classic in the style of Monty Python and Mel Brooks. Next up will be what some critics consider the greatest protest play ever written, “Mother Courage and Her Children” directed by Associate Professor Larissa Lury. Written by Bertolt Brecht in 1939 while exiled from Germany, this epic play with music follows a woman’s journey of survival in a war-torn 17th Century Europe.

Auditions for “Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors” and “Mother Courage” will be held on Saturday, August 24, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts. Callbacks to follow on Sunday, August 25.
