Chamber honors healthcare workers

The 2023 Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Awards were presented Sept. 7 at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

From multiple nominations, eight awards were given in seven categories.

The Compassion Award went to Amanda Escarcega of Memorial Medical Center.

The Crisis Response Award was awarded to Jocelyn Gonzalez of Doña Ana County Health and Human Services.

Teresa Roman of Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern New Mexico earned the Emerging Leader Award.

The Impact Award was won by the White Sands Area Team Air Methods, Native Air.

In the Innovation Award category, there were two winners: Ali Covarrubias Parra of Aprendamos Family of Services and Tyler Short of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern New Mexico.

The Teamwork Award went to Cancer Warriors of Las Cruces.

Dr. John Andazola of the Southern New Mexico Family Residency Program won the Mayor’s Legacy Award.
