Posted

Interested in a career as a Las Cruces firefighter? The Las Cruces Fire Department (LCFD) is preparing for an academy to be held this fall and is offering the Physical Ability Test (PAT) to prospective candidates, 18 years and older, to assess their stamina and agility skills before applying for a position.

There are three PATs scheduled to be held at the Fire Department’s training tower at Fire Station 7, 1050 Crawford Blvd., at the Las Cruces International Airport, the city said in a news release. Each will take place 8:30 a.m.-noon on Saturdays            May 7 and 28 and June 11.

LCPD firefighters will be on hand to provide tips and to answer questions, the city said.

Candidates should dress appropriately – athletic shoes and apparel are suggested.
