Closing of ‘Senior Amigos’

Posted

MountainView hospital has very generously supported the Senior Amigos program for seniors for many years now. This is a program for people 50+ and provides socialization, exercise, crafts and many other activities.

They currently have over 1,000 members with probably close to 200 attending a class of some type every day.  We were notified that the program would stop the end of April with no explanation.  The city has some programs for seniors, but not enough space to provide all the activities that Senior Amigos has provided for years. We always talk about needing to keep our seniors active and healthy and this wonderful program is now being taken away from us. I hope MountainView will reconsider and keep Senior Amigos available for the many who participate in the classes.
