Consuelo Chavez Semidey, 64, resident of Las Cruces, NM passed away July 24, 2024. She was born, October 26, 1959, in San Ysidro, NM to Adan U. Chavez and Jennie Cabrera.
She attended New Mexico State University with a business degree.
Consuelo worked in many facets of marketing and sales which was her true love along with interior design. She lived her life with a strong work ethic and was known for her giving and loving attitude to others including strangers. She loved fly fishing and traveling to different parts of the United States including Hawaii, New Orleans, Montana, New York, and also Canada. She loved spending time with her family.
Consuelo was a member of the Panlener Church of Christ and was a baptized daughter of Jesus Christ. She ensured that she put Christ first in all aspects of her life.
Consuelo is survived by: her son, Oscar Ortiz, granddaughter Vanessa Garcia Ortiz; sister Rosemary Jaurigue (Tom); Viola Gonzalez; Gracie Giron; Jennie Marie Rutiaga; Christina Moabed (Mo); Virginia Hofer (Jeff); Carla Cabrera; Marco Antonio Cabrera (Cynthia) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adan U. Chavez and Jennie Cabrera, Adam Chavez, Alva Chavez, Alfred Chavez, and Rebecca Castillo.
A memorial service for Consuelo Semidey will be held at 10:00 am, August 23, 2024, at Panlener Church of Christ at 1325 Panlener Ave., Las Cruces, NM with Ron Herring officiating.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to Mesquite Church of Christ, Panlener Church of Christ, Mesilla Valley Hospice, Becky Weber, and Unoe Rena Edwards.
