“This is a dream of ours,” Clarissa “Classy” Acosta said.
She’s talking about Ultimate Mobile Tires, LLC, the new business that Clarissa and her husband, Johnny Acosta, opened in Las Cruces in February.
“My husband is a true tire expert,” Classy Acosta said, “so we decided we wanted to take his experience and start our own mobile shop.”
With 13 years of experience in the tire business, Johnny Acosta custom-fitted a bright yellow trailer with all the equipment he needs and drives it throughout the Las Cruces area to change flat tires, check tire pressure and scan, reset and replace tire-pressure monitoring sensors; do tire and wheel installation; rotate and balance tires; and check and replace batteries and do jump starts.
All Acosta’s work is done on-site with his mobile shop. You can call for service or schedule it on the business website.
“We’re huge into customer service,” said Classy Acosta, who is also a Medicare insurance agent.
“We’re building local relationships,” Johnny Acosta said.
Their goal is to expand their family-owned business and create franchises throughout New Mexico and in El Paso.
Regular business hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday. You can call during other times to see if Acosta is available to provide service.
Johnny Acosta is a native of El Paso and comes from a long line of small-business owners. Classy Acosta is a native of Albuquerque. They have lived in Las Cruces for 10 years and have two young children.
