Election results: Hatch, Sunland Park, Anthony

In the at-large race for two seats on the Village of Hatch Board of Trustees, incumbent G. Dennis Torres received 99 votes (42 percent), incumbent Peter Atencio received 92 votes (39 percent) and Linda Alvarez received 44 votes (19 percent).

Hatch municipal judge candidate Bertha Torres was unopposed and received 135 votes. She replaces Shirley Roe.

In Sunland Park, Mayor Javier Perea was re-elected without opposition, receiving 372 votes. Perea was appointed in 2014 and re-elected in 2014 and 2019.

In Sunland Park city council races, District 4 incumbent Albert Jaramillo-Gonzalez was re-elected with 73 votes (60 percent). Aixa Adame received 49 votes (40 percent). In District 5, Maria Burciaga received 80 votes (62 percent) to 50 votes (38 percent) for incumbent Olga Nuñez. In District 6, incumbent Jeffrey Cox Jr. was unopposed and received 30 votes.

In the at-large race for one seat on the City of Anthony, New Mexico Board of Trustees, Fernando Herrera received 251 votes (29 percent), Jose Garcia Jr. received 244 votes (28 percent), incumbent Elva Flores received 186 votes (21 percent), Jaime Castillo received 138 votes (16 percent) and Rogelio Maldonado Jr. received 51 votes (six percent).

In the at-large race for three seats on the Hatch Valley Public Schools Board of Education, Richard Marquez received 219 votes (21 percent), Joaquin Legarreta received 177 votes (17 percent), Reynaldo Gonzales received 171 votes (17 percent), incumbent Lupe Castillo received 163 votes (16 percent), incumbent Greg Mitchell received 157 votes (15 percent) and incumbent Merlinda Hinojos received 137 (13 percent).

In Gadsden Independent School District Board of Education races, Christian Lira received 204 votes (60 percent) to defeat incumbent Armando Cano, 138 votes (40 percent) in District 1. Incumbent Claudia Rodriguez was re-elected in District 3 without opposition, receiving 244 votes. In District 4, incumbent Daniel Castillo received 352 votes (53 percent) to 317 votes (47 percent) for Hector Giron.
