The Las Cruces Museum of Art’s (MOA) much anticipated “From the Ground Up XXX” exhibition opens Aug. 6 and continues through Oct. 9 at MOA, 491 N. Main St.

“From the Ground Up” is a biannual juried exhibition that MOA co-hosts with the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces. It includes a variety of ceramic and pottery works by regional artists, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.

This year’s exhibit features 56 works of art, the city said.

The show’s juror will be Joshua R. Clark, assistant professor of ceramics at New Mexico State University. Clark’s work has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Yingge Ceramic Art Museum in Taiwan; Museum of Ceramics in Fiorano Italy; Museum of International Design and Ceramics in Laveno Mombello, Italy; Arizona State Museum of Art in Tempe, Arizona; Zanesville Museum of Art in Zanesville Ohio; and the Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Clark received the Gold Prize in the 2016 Taiwan Ceramic Biennale.

Clark has an MFA from Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

The exhibit’s opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday Aug. 6.

MOA is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
