A Las Cruces man who shot at police officers after a car chase in 2023 was sentenced to 54 years in prison on Friday.
Bobby Charles Crawford, 47, was convicted by a jury of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, one count of aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer and shooting at or from a motor vehicle.
Crawford led police on a chase into a neighborhood near Holman Road and South of Arroyo Road. As the police spun out of his vehicle, the body camera showed gunfire zipping a few inches from an officer.
