Las Cruces police are investigating a Thursday shooting that has killed one man and injured another, the city stated early in the evening.

At approximately 4 a.m., police say the shooting occurred at a residence on the 900 block of Graham Street. First, police were dispatched to MountainView Regional Medical Center where a 34-year-old man who was not identified had presented with at least one gunshot wound. He is expected to survive.

In speaking with this man, police said they learned of another individual who had been shot at the Graham Street residence. At that scene, police say they found a 29-year-old man who was deceased and had been shot, although it was not clear from the initial statement how many times, with what kind of ammunition or what circumstances reportedly took place. This victim was not identified Thursday.

Police said they obtained a search warrant for the home and that the investigation was active Thursday. They also put out a call for information about the incident, directing tipsters to call the LCPD at 575-526-0795.
