‘Olmo’ wraps filming in Las Cruces

Posted

The New Mexico Film Office announced last week that a feature film, “Olmo,” completed filming in and near Las Cruces last month.

The movie, directed by Mexican director Fernando Eimbcke and co-written with Vanesa Garnica, “showcases our diverse, amazing locations and the rich culture within our community,” Las Cruces Film Liaison Andrew Jara stated in a news release.

The film office said “Olmo” employed more than 100 New Mexico residents: Approximately 80 as “background talent,” typically nonspeaking performers appearing in group or crowd scenes; plus 40 as crew members and 12 as principal actors.
