LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Coming off of a sweep of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies last weekend, the NM State Baseball team will look to continue their five-game winning streak as they open a four-game set.  The Aggies will continue their 13-game homestand on Friday at 3 p.m. as Prairie View A&M comes to Las Cruces. 

AGGIE FACTS 

• The Aggies swept Oakland last weekend, scoring 33 runs in three games. 
• Last weekend, the Aggies launched six home runs out of Presley Askew Field. Cal Villareal, Brandon Dieter, Nolan Funke, Logan Gallina, and Kevin Jimenez all went yard for the Aggies.
• Funke and Gallina split the team lead in home runs with two apiece. 
• Dieter is the lone Aggie to record a hit in each of the team’s first six games. Jimenez and Edwin Martinez-Pagani enter the weekend riding four-game hitting streaks. 
• Dieter and Jimenez have both reached safely in each of NM State’s first six games as have Gunner Antillon and Preston Godfrey.
• Cam Blazek and Cade Swenson are both set to make their first appearances as starting pitchers for NM State this season. Swenson and Blazek have combined to throw 7.0 innings out of the bullpen, allowing just one run. 

ABOUT THE PANTHERS 

• While Prairie View A&M is off to a 2-5 start this season, the Panthers proved to be deadly in SWAC play last season. The Panthers went 12-7 in conference games last season and won the SWAC’s West division.  
• Last weekend, Prairie View A&M split a pair of games with Jackson State in the Jackson State Tourney. While in Jackson, the Panthers also dropped a neutral site contest to Butler.  
• The Panthers picked up their first win of the season over Arkansas – Pine Bluff in the Andre Dawson Classic. The Panthers put up 11 runs over the final three innings to seal the victory. 
• Much like Oakland, Prairie View A&M likes to play small ball. The Panthers currently rank 18th in the nation in sacrifice bunts this season.  
• Earlier this week, the Panthers dropped a midweek contest to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, 7-0.
