Southwest Environmental Center is raffling 2021 Toyota Prius hybrid; ticket sales end April 23

This year the Southwest Environmental Center (SWEC) is raffling off a 2021 Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid.

“This raffle is one of our major fundraisers,” said SWEC Executive Director Kevin Bixby. “When you buy a ticket, you not only have a chance to win this fantastic car, but you're helping us to protect wildlife and habitats in the Southwest,” he said.

Tickets are $110 each. Only 500 will be sold, Bixby said.

Ticket sales will continue until 7 p.m. Friday, April 23. The winner will be drawn at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, with the drawing live streamed on www.facebook.com/Southwest.Environmental.Center.

All tickets purchased will be sent virtually to the email address provided by the purchaser, Bixby said. Anyone without an email address can call Emma at 575-323-0927 to request that a hard copy of the ticket be sent by mail.

Established in 1992, SWEC is a member-supported, grassroots conservation organization based in Las Cruces. Its mission is to protect and restore native wildlife and their habitats in the southwestern borderlands, through advocacy, education and on-the-ground conservation projects. “We speak for wildlife and wild places,” SWEC said on its website. “We work to protect and restore vital habitats, like Otero Mesa and the Rio Grande, and endangered species, like the Mexican Grey Wolf.”
